In conclusion, common mental health issues in college students include: depression, suicidal thoughts, and drinking. The colleges and universities use assessments, surveys, classes, and activities to address the common mental health issues of students. The recent violence reported from some college campuses show that the colleges and universities may need a uniform assessment process for all students to reduce the chance of these types of shootings from happening in the future.
